About Spark Bird Farms

Our Story

Spark Bird Farms began in 2023 when baker Sarah Miller discovered that her sourdough starter had an uncanny ability to attract local songbirds. The birds would gather on her patio, drawn by the fermented grains and the morning dew on the herbs she grew.

What started as a quirky observation became a mission: to create a bake stand that honors both the art of bread-making and the beauty of nature. We're nestled in a residential bird sanctuary in the Pacific Northwest, surrounded by mature oaks, maples, and the occasional peregrine falcon.

Every loaf, every fritter, every scone is crafted with the same care we'd use to build a nest—layer by layer, ingredient by ingredient. We believe that good food and good company (whether human or avian) are the best way to start any morning.

Fun fact: We started as "Feather & Flour" — a pun on "feathered friends" and "flour" — but we're now officially Spark Bird Farms! The original name lives on in our story and in the hearts of our customers.
